Jefferson Dental provides dental education to thousands of Texas students

On March 30, 2016 Written and Reviewed by JDC Content Committee

dental giveaway boxOne of the top ways to keep kids healthy is through routine dental care. Tooth decay remains the #1 chronic childhood illness in America, even more prevalent than obesity.

Jefferson Dental has set out to change that statistic, improving the oral health of students in school districts in Texas through interactive dental care presentations and free dental kit giveaways to thousands of students in Texas elementary, middle and high schools.

This spring semester alone, the Jefferson Dental Community Wellness program has visited more than 50 local schools in Texas metro areas, providing presentations and more than 6,000 dental hygiene kits and dental education to students. The program plans to visit even more schools by the end of the semester, and has begun booking presentations at summer programs and schools during the fall 2016 semester.

“This is an opportunity for students of all ages to learn about proper dental hygiene, why it’s important to care for our teeth and how to brush and floss properly,” says Sasha Rodriguez, Community Wellness Manager.

The program is offered to schools and daycare centers free of charge, usually through invite by an administrator or school nurse.

“Every child deserves access to resources to learn about healthy habits.” says Rodriguez. “We hope to inspire healthy habits that last for a lifetime.”

Jefferson Dental has been providing quality, affordable dental care to families since 1967.

To bring the Community Wellness Program to your school call in Houston 832-998-0368, or 972-663-5371 in Dallas.
