Making the Most of Dental Savings

Making The Most Of Dental Savings

There’s no denying that dentistry can end up racking up a pretty penny. Dental care is integral to health care and can be expensive, but it doesn’t have to be. At Jefferson Dental & Orthodontics, we offer competitive pricing, but we also offer the opportunity for additional savings for members of our Dental Savings Plan.

Let’s go through ways in which you can not only reduce the cost of your dental bills but also understand what procedures are more costly.

How Can You Reduce Your Dental Costs?

One of the reasons many avoid going to the dentist is the cost. But the catch-22 is that dental visits can be expensive if you do not go for regular dental checkups and preventive care.

Many patients ignore a simple toothache here and there until it gets unbearable. The longer you wait, the more complicated the treatment becomes, and that can lead to a much higher dental bill.

Take Advantage of Seasonal Specials

Yes, you read that right, dentist offices have seasonal specials too! Whether it’s a visit to your hygienist or a percentage off any treatments, keep a close eye on your dental office’s marketing channels so you’re aware of when they’re running any potential specials.

We all know braces can be costly, so take advantage of our orthodontic treatment special packages, including our current promotion of up to *$890 off braces when you pay in full. Think about what you do this summer with that extra $890 in your pocket! To see all of our current specials, click here.

*Valid 10/1/2023 – 12/31/23 for new, comprehensive cases (both arches) at Jefferson orthodontic offices. Must pay in full at time of banding. Does not apply to insurance or payment plans. Total discount varies based on treatment plan price.

Look For Flexible Payment Plans or Financing Options

If you find yourself in a situation where you either don’t have insurance or you’ve suddenly needed dental work done, consider using a dental financing option. A dental financing option is a payment plan that allows patients to make payments over an extended period of time. Fortunately, many dentists offer the option of a payment plan or financing options, allowing patients to pay smaller installments over time instead of one large sum.

Get a Dental Savings Plan

Dental Savings Plans are not an exact substitute for dental insurance, but they can help you get access to the dental care you need if it’s not covered by insurance or if you don’t have insurance. Jefferson Dental & Orthodontics offers a Dental Savings Plan starting at just $49/year that includes certain member benefits such as:

  • Up to 50% off treatments and services
  • Free exams and X-rays

Dental Procedures That Can Be Costly

With regular dental checkups, your oral health is monitored, and any potential problems can be diagnosed earlier and dealt with more simply. You’ll find that the more costly procedures are likely a result of either restorative treatment or cosmetic dentistry. Let’s unpack.

Specialist Treatments

In some cases, your dentist will recommend that you see a specialist, which may affect the price of treatment. There are many specialties in dentistry, such as oral and maxillofacial surgeons or periodontists. If your dentist advises you to see a specialist, it is so that you can receive specialized treatment for a specific dental problem that needs specialist care- which in turn, costs specialized prices.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry, whether straightening teeth or placements of veneers and crowns to improve your smile, can often result in an increased fee. These cases are often supported by an outside laboratory that works with the dentist to assess the case, evaluate various factors, and ensure the perfect smile for you with the right materials and finish. This promises the picture-perfect smile, but also comes at a cost.

Next time you’re worried about the cost of dental treatment, remember that prevention will always be less than treatment and repairs. Restorative or specialist treatment/repairs require more in-depth dental work, so to stay on top of your oral health, book your appointment with Jefferson Dental & Orthodontics today!
