Dental emergencies don’t belong in the emergency room. The ADA says every 15 seconds, someone goes to the ER with a dental emergency. The problem is, ERs and urgent care centers around America are at capacity and under pressure dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to this, most ERs do not have the personnel or equipment necessary to treat dental emergencies. In an effort to reduce overcrowding in the ERs, Jefferson Dental & Orthodontics’ Community Outreach Manager, Deliris Acosta, has safely visited more than one hundred ERs and urgent care facilities throughout the DFW area, letting them know that Jefferson Dental can help patients in pain get the dental care that they need.

Given that our mouth is our first line of defense against germs, we want to help everyone with their oral hygiene. We have donated hundreds of dental kits to Julian T. Saldivar Elementary School and Logan Elementary School to include in kids’ lunches. We also partnered with Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar in the Dallas area to include Jefferson Dental Kits with to-go orders.

As the Shelter-In-Place order comes to an end in Texas, we understand that a new “normal” needs to be established. As our offices reopen to resume offering all dental and orthodontic services starting May 1, we want our patients and our community to know that we value their health. We are taking every precaution to protect patients and our team so that our patients trust that we are able to provide the care that they need in a safe environment.
We take pride in the fact that we offer a variety of ways for patients to pay for treatment, from flexible financing options to a Dental Savings Plan for patients without insurance. We know that the COVID pandemic has had a significant economic impact as well, and it is our goal that patients do not neglect their oral health during this challenging time.
