Choose Jefferson Dental Clinics as your Dental Home!
Changes are on the way for your children’s Medicaid dental services:
Starting March 1, 2012, children covered by Medicaid will get their dental services through a Medicaid dental plan.
You will need to pick a dental plan and a main dentist:
In the coming months, Medicaid will send you a packet in the mail. It will have a letter that will tell you more about the Medicaid dental plans and benefits. It also will tell you how to pick a plan and a main dentist for your children. Once you have selected a plan that is best for your children, we look forward to you selecting Jefferson Dental Clinics as your main dentist on the enrollment application or call the plan directly at 800-964-2777 (once you have received the enrollment package), and select Jefferson Dental Clinics as your main dentist. The objectives of these plans are to provide services in a manner that improves the patients' oral health. Each patient will have a main dentist that will support an ongoing relationship. The main dentist will get to know the patient and their dental history on a one on one basis. Patients and their dentists will be able to build a relationship that will continue throughout treatment. The dentist can make referrals to dental specialists and services your child might need.
The three plans available to select from are Delta Dental, DentaQuest and MCNA. We are proud to announce that Jefferson Dental Clinics will be a participating provider under ALL THREE dental plans. If you do not select a dental provider, the plan will select a dentist for you randomly.
What Medicaid dental plans offer:
Your children will get the same Medicaid dental services they get now, plus:
- A main dentist who will get to know your child and take care of their dental needs.
- Extra benefits from the dental plan you pick.
Each plan offers "value-added" services. These are extra services that a dental plan can give to its members. Before picking a dental plan, check which extra services it offers and choose the plan that offers the extra services you want. As of right know we are not aware of the "value-added" services each plan will offer.
